Introduction:

Barah Broq is one of the best ways of seeing K2 in a relatively quick manner. Not only that, it also features quintessential Karakoram scenery and the chance to come into contact with communities that rarely see outsiders. This trek starts from Barah valley which is 3 hours drive from Skardu city. This trek also includes summit of Mosses peak 5300 m which is a trekking peak. The unique feature for this peak is that one can experience the magnificent view of K2 the 2nd highest peak in the world along with almost all the other 8000 m+ peaks in the area including
Nanga Parbat, Broad peak, G1, G2 and some 7000 m+ including Spantik, Latok, Masherbrum, G3, G4, Chogolisa Baltoro Kangri, Sia Kangri, K7, K6, K12 and many others.

Itinerary

Arrival of participants in Skardu and transferred to Concordia Motel or equivalent.

Drive to Hussainabad (40 mins). Masroor rock hike. Night stay in Skardu in hotel.

Start of the trek after Barah Village. Trek till the pool campsite (3100m) Night stay in camps.

Trek till Rock pool camp (4150m). Night stay in camps.

Trek towards jagged peaks (Advance Basecamp) 4700m. Night stay in camps.

Wakeup call 3:00 am and light breakfast. Summit push starts at 4:00 am. Cut off time to reach summit 9:00am. Trek back to Rock Pool campsite.

Trek back to Barah valley. Jeep ride to Skardu.
