Introduction:

Machlu La (5071m) offers a unique opportunity to view K2 and some of the other highest peaks of the world after only a couple of days of trekking. Machlu is a village in the Hushe valley at a distance of 15 km from Khaplu. The village has lush green summer pastures and green mountains over its entire western side. From the top, one can view the mighty K-2, Broad Peak and Gasherbrum series. This viewpoint also allows you to see Nanga Parbat, also known as the Killer Mountain in the other direction. 

Itinerary

Arrival of participants in Skardu and transferred to Concordia Motel or equivalent.

Jeep journey to reach Machulo village in Hushe valley. Start the trek from the village and 3-4 hours of trek leads towards Camp I at Khadi Broq (3200m). Overnight in camps.

Start an easy yet slightly steeper trek to Camp II, Quoli Brangsa (4150m). The trail gradually ascends on the way up till Camp II. Overnight in camps.

Start the challenging ascent to Machlu LA Top (5200m). Trek back to Camp II Quoli Brangsa. Overnight in camps.

Trek back to Machulo village. Transfer to jeeps and drive back to Skardu.
