Deosai over Shatung Pass Trek
Introduction:
Shagarthang to Deosai over Shatung Pass (4500m) trek is an amazingly beautiful gentle trek at the backdrop of Deosai plains. The four-day trek starts from the serene village of Shagarthang and ends at Deosai plateau, the second highest plateau in the world. Most of the trek remains above the tree line, offering a walk in the green meadows with flowing streams zigzagging the path.

Itinerary
Arrival of participants in Skardu and transferred to Concordia Motel or equivalent.
Drive from Skardu to Shagarthang via 4x4 Jeep. Setup the camps. Overnight in camps.
Start trek from Shagarthang village to Pakpok (3800m), near a summer settlement. Gentle gradual ascend of 500m. Overnight in camps.
Trek to Shaigiri, ascend to Shatung Pass (4500m). Descend to the base from the other side in the green meadows. Overnight in camps.the base of Shatung Pass at 4050m walking past beautiful meadows and streams. Overnight in camps.
Ascend to Shatung Pass (4500m). Descend to the base from the other side in the green meadows. Overnight in camps.
Shatung Campsite to Deosai Road. Transfer to Jeeps. Drive back to Skardu.
